Pros
In principle it sounds like a good company, in practice it does not seem to work.
Cons
Seemed a reasonable option to fill time and earn some money while waiting to hear back on applications for proper jobs. However, after jumping through their hoops and providing free editing to get on their list of editors in late October, I had to wait until mid February to be sent anything to edit. In examining the document that they sent yesterday, and requested it be turned around in 36 hours, it was clear that the standard of work I was being asked to edit was very poor and required a rewrite rather than simply editing. Communication is rather strange with PBS, as all emails arrive from anonymous gmail or googlemail address, with first names of staff. Interesting it is usually a different anonymous email address every time, which does not inspire confidence. You never know who you are dealing with, and emails tend to go unanswered if you contact PBS to ask about work. If considering applying here, be aware that they will waste your time.
