The only reason to work at Protiviti is IF you are a niche specialist---the company is transitioning from SOX testing outfit to a consulting company--as a result employees who have nothing to offer to the new consulting based framework are being laid off in droves (as of December 2008)
Cons
Again, the company gre as a SOX testing outfit---and hired a lot of people to do that, now that this cash cow is no longer delivering and the company wants to transition to consulting based framework, people are being laid off
