Poor management communication, lackluster training - Field Technician Proton Technologies Employee Review

Pros

Set own schedule, pay is decent. Work from home available

Cons

Working at a lot of low-end businesses, with not very professional or computer savvy users. Many of the companies you support will have outright rude staff. Managers in most cases will take their word over yours if any user is unhappy for whatever reason. Not much in the area of support or preparation for servicing clients, many which have different network environments. This is especially daunting when providing phone support to customers who have issues whom you have never dealt with or know nothing about their setup. Be prepared to service old, outdated equipment, software and use whatever backdoor resources you have for customers who haven't updated applications in years(and don't want to pay for current versions)

Pros

Very positive culture. Fair compensation for work completed. Very flexible with scheduling/PTO

Cons

Company does not follow employee review structure. Most raise/performance discussions must come from the employee with vigorous reminders.

Pros

Pay was really great and due to them being purchased by Reynolds & Reynolds they had very good benefits.

Cons

Supervisors are not transparent as people and they are slowly being absorbed by Reynolds. There is no LGBT support at all and i felt very out of place more than i feel i should've been. Often feel like your on an island. Brad Holton isn't the CEO but on paper.
