Pros

Proven Process has a wide variety of projects going on at any given time, and a group of great Engineers doing the designs.

Cons

The medical benefits are the worst I've ever had through an employer. There is very little flexibility offered in terms of time off. Hours above and beyond what are normally required aren't recognized when someone needs a day off for family or personal reasons. Some Project Leaders shouldn't be leading projects. A good engineer doesn't always make a good Project Leader (and vice versa).

Pros

Co-workers are, for the most part, very nice and competent. There are some interesting projects to work on. There are reasonable expectations for what employees are capable of and how many hours they work.

Cons

Where do I start . . . the general theme is that management is extremely short sighted. Issues on projects are resolved by finding the quickest short-term solution, regardless of the long-term implications. The investment in equipment and IT infrastructure is minimal - most employees have desktops with outdated operating systems, there are way too few licenses for critical software, and some of the manufacturing and test equipment is literally decades old and significantly outdated. The concept of spending time and money up front to improve productivity down the road seems to be lost on management. The short-sightedness extends to treatment of employees. While the people in management are pleasant enough in personal interactions, they treat employees extremely callously and don't seem to understand that this is a losing long-term strategy. Benefits are the bare minimum for the medical device industry, and most people are lucky to get pay raises that keep up with inflation. Good work is acknowledged verbally, but not rewarded in any material way. There is no flexibility with regard to working from home - it doesn't matter what the weather is like or what you have going on at home. Even during the pandemic, employees were expected to be in the office until literally the hour the stay at home order started in Massachusetts, and asked to resume working in-office way too early. Naturally, there was a COVID outbreak not long after. Management seems unwilling to spend a penny more than they have to on creating a good work environment for their employees. This unsurprisingly doesn't cut it with most people, which is why almost everyone at Proven Process has worked there for either more than 10 years or fewer than 3. They have a few people who have drunk the Kool-Aid, and everyone else stays a few years, realizes that they can do better, and leaves.
