Culture of Micromanagement and Poor Leadership Communication - Anonymous employee Psicon Group Employee Review

Pros

Some colleagues are supportive and the role provides exposure to the private healthcare sector. The job itself is not particularly demanding and tasks are generally manageable.

Cons

The biggest issue is the management culture. There is a strong sense of micromanagement, where staff are closely monitored and trusted very little to simply carry out their roles. Rather than feeling supported, it often feels like management are watching for how each minute of the day is spent. Communication from leadership is often poor and can feel unsupportive. Managers frequently “throw their weight around” instead of creating an environment where staff feel respected or able to raise concerns openly. Overall, the atmosphere can feel tense and unnecessarily controlled, which impacts morale and makes what could be a straightforward role feel far more stressful than it needs to be.

Pros

Flexible working Hybrid working Sick leave

Cons

- Chaotic, inconsistent management, who struggle support their team equally - Favouritism - Nepotism - The five pillars of Psicon somehow do not stand up once they have entered the work place. Team members seem far from caring once enough time has passed, a great deal of disingenuous people surround you - Company has grown too quickly and it has meant jobs changing several times over the course of a year - Workload is too heavy - Responsibilities are too high for the job role and pay does not reflect the responsibilities - Pay does not align with the cost of living in the South of England - it seems most of my colleagues are living paycheque to paycheque
