Pros

Their are not really many pros except if you get the health insurance, their health insurance is pretty good for the cost.

Cons

The hours are in the middle of the day, no flexibility as far as days off, they rarely give 40 hours a week. You are constantly dealing with pissy customer because they have either had a rent increase, late fees, or they were told it was only going to be $23 and then we have to sell them lock and insurance (which has gone up). The amount of responsibility and stress for the pay is not worth it. Plus they've been putting me at properties that are not even close to where I live, I can think of at least 5 properties that are closer to me than the one I'm working at now. My DM just got fired for being so much of a jerk to his employees and not listening, which is the norm for PS DMs. The pay and bonuses (which change and get less every year) are just completely not worth it. If you become a property manager (more responsibility) there is no pay raise. After 6 months there's a .50 pay raise and that's pretty much it. They do not hire up within, so no room for growth.

Pros

Public Storage is a great place to work and grow your career. I’m surrounded by talented leaders who are supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in developing their teams. The company has a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, which creates an environment where employees can succeed and make an impact. What excites me most is that Public Storage is in a significant growth phase. It’s an energizing time to be part of the organization, with opportunities to contribute to meaningful initiatives, take on new challenges, and help shape the future of the business. The company continues to invest in its people, processes, and growth strategy, making it an excellent place for those who are looking to develop professionally while being part of a winning team. If you’re looking for a company with strong leadership, career advancement opportunities, and a clear vision for the future, Public Storage is a fantastic place to be.

Cons

Cons: As Public Storage continues to grow, the pace of the business can be very fast. There are often multiple initiatives, priorities, and opportunities happening simultaneously, which requires strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly. Success in this environment depends on being able to effectively prioritize, manage competing demands, and stay focused on the highest-impact work. While the pace can be challenging at times, it also creates tremendous opportunities for growth, learning, and career development.

Pros

Benefits, ability to move your body if you like a workout.

Cons

Training is terrible, the trainers do not care about your ability to perform. In training we are told to contact the trainers throughout the workday to ask questions and provide guidance for work flow. One of the trainers talks down to me, doesn’t call me back and has openly told me on call “is this an emergency?” I stated no and she hung up. Unprofessional. The other trainer has completed 6 weeks of coaching through our academy and not once called me or in person coached me on anything listed throughout the coaching. Many people have quit in the short time I’ve been here.
