Pros

I have now worked at Publicize for over two years and have made huge progress in my professional career due to the many unique opportunities available: getting bylines on Publicize’s top partner publications, speaking at startup events, being named a mentor, leading a team, doing video interviews, attending conversations with top journalists, etc. The team is incredibly talented with international staff coming from Colombia, the UK, Argentina, the Netherlands, and the US, among many other countries, all with a range of different experiences and backgrounds. Speaking Spanglish in the in-person office in Medellín and being part of all the team events (making sushi, self defense, meditation, etc) has been a privilege that not many people get to experience in the remote era. I would highly recommend relocating rather than working remotely—the experience is very different. There's also the opportunity for quarterly raises and bonuses depending on performance.

Cons

Despite around 80 employees at the company, there’s still a startup mentality. On the one hand, this means that you can come to senior members of the team with ideas and quickly make change. But equally, it means that the environment can be fast-paced and workload unpredictable, needing all hands on deck. We are a fairly young team, so the beauty is that we’re constantly innovating and looking for new ways to deliver the highest quality work for clients (e.g., building our own CRM, knowledge bank, etc). This also means training is engrained into our culture, and workshops about challenges/ areas of improvement are a weekly occurrence. But this fact can also sometimes be a setback as new colleagues or younger team members are learning on the job.

Pros

Fast pace environment You acquire a lot of skills in terms of Public Relations Management You are exposed to work with people from the world biggest publications

Cons

Company environment is toxic. You have been under pressure every time, even when exceeding expectations, this is never enough for the Partners or CEO. I'd never come back to this place even if I didn't have any other place to go.
