Pros
Flexible with time-off and school for part-timers. Starting pay for front-end associates is horrible and advancement is not common. Promotions are nice at the store, but only until you hit a certain wage and then they try to lower your evaluation so you won't get a pay raise. Health/dental/vision insurance is nice but only for full-time associates. 401K, but only really works out if Publix will be your career. Free hot lunches at distribution center. Decent money at distribution center, but could be better for the hard work selectors do.
Cons
Where to begin. Three years at the store I have seen way too many disrespectful managers, including the store manager. Always looking down at you like you haven't done your job well enough. Never complimenting on a job well done. Always telling you how to do your own job when they don't know how to their own effectively. The attitudes of the customers coming in on a daily basis doesn't help either. Managers at the Distribution Center aren't any different either. Always looking at number-crunches and never looking at the exhausted faces of the folks that do the work. We don't like to work 9-11 hour shifts so don't say we won't be when you know we will be. Managers also don't like to communicate well with other associates so morale is sometimes terrible.
