Pros

1. People: The people at Pulse are easy to work with. There's a strong sense of camaraderie and collaboration, and people want each other to succeed. 2. Work/life balance: You'll rarely be expected to work outside of normal business hours. 3. Impact: If you figure out a better way to architect a part of the codebase or know of a technology, framework, database, etc. that can improve things, you'll likely be able to implement it as long as you can justify your approach and present an iterative implementation plan. The opportunity to make a big impact on a small, flexible team is huge. 4. Celebrations: During non-COVID times, there are company-paid meals for birthdays, promotions, big project deliveries, and other occasions. There are also quarterly dinners at fancy NYC restaurants, 3pm happy hours on Fridays, and a big annual holiday party.

Cons

Pulse Analytics works closely with a consulting firm called The Dedham Group (TDG). While TDG has made progress in adopting technology solutions, the firm could try to make technology the center of its efforts to organize data and deliver key insights to clients. A Pulse/TDG partnership with technology-first practices and a technology-first vision would position both entities to grow scalably and sustainably while advancing Pulse's data infrastructure, engineering reputation, and hiring efforts.
