Pros
An extremely well-run university that makes sense in its administration and has high academic standards. Amazing benefits! Great facilities. Undergraduates mainly hardworking and interested in their education, although there are exceptions. All policies etc. are online and available without a paywall or registration gateway. They value their faculty highly and it shows. Technology advances are well-thought-out. Decent, but not stellar, pay.
Cons
Sometimes it seems as if there is a big middle-management layer whose exact responsibilities are hard to fathom. Administrative technology systems are desperate for integration, but they are working on that. The Purdue/IU rivalry is unfriendly and borders on outright hatred, which is difficult culturally for someone like me with strong loyalties to both schools--I feel I have to hide my IU pride here.
