Excellent R1 university that provides essentially anything you could hope for in terms of accessibility to instrumentation, techniques and collaborators. It is a well known school, meaning recruiters come for on-site interviews. Also, it tends to be one of five main schools most large companies recruit from (from what I've seen). Depending on the area of research and your own accomplishments, Purdue can really catapult you into a very nice and prestigious position in academia, industry or national labs.
