Pros

Good managers and team make a massive difference when it comes to starting out and learning how to be a PT (the course is step 1 but you're not going to be a good PT yet). The gyms are generally busy and have a lot of potential clients (pre-lockdown).

Cons

Employment model means you're losing out on £90 per month after your first couple of months on the job. You can claim back the difference at the end of the year in tax but you have to last that long first. Some have poor management and team and it's reflected in the high turnover of staff.

Pros

The only “good” thing is the small percentage of new equipment and that some gyms are 24 hours.

Cons

Management is unfair, cutting hours and expecting a single worker to handle the entire gym. Incredible staff are undervalued, while third-party cleaners and side services pretend to solve problems they don’t. Members are chaotic, shifts are impossible, and yet leadership refuses to hire properly. Think smarter, not cheaper.
