Pros

I had the opportunity to meet some hardworking and genuine people. However, they no longer work at Pure Salt due to the behavior of owners, upper management, and HR. It was sad to witness the disrespect and toxicity they had to endure from this company.

Cons

The work environment was extremely toxic and unhealthy and was more about gossiping about other employees than support. Upper management, HR, and owners have a lot of empty promises and tend to overwork employees for little to no pay while making them take on more than their bandwidth can handle. The company overall is highly disorganized, and there is a high turnover rate among employees. Over 40+ employees left last year and most leave after a year or less due to the work environment. (The company only has about 30 employees who work there.) Upper management and the HR department lack the necessary qualifications to handle employees and their concerns. In many instances, they resort to manipulation to gain gossip and information from employees. The company’s owners are overly self-absorbed and highly disrespectful towards their employees’ time and efforts. They preach how they are about empowering and supporting women and how Pure Salt is a welcoming company that is all about teamwork, leadership, and support but in reality, there was not much of that seen. Advice For Job Seekers: I would NOT recommend Pure Salt Interiors to anyone. If you are searching for a company that has a great culture, values, work-life balance, and positive business outlook, that will help you advance in your career, then I encourage you to move on and NOT work here, you will only be disappointed.

Pros

I genuinely loved my time at Pure Salt. Senior leadership was transparent from my first interview that this position would be challenging and require courage and risk-taking. Aly and Leigh have a clear vision that is easy to buy in to when you are willing to listen. If you have the courage to try new things, fail, and recover quickly- you will understand the benefits of this team and environment. There are opportunities for high level contributions every day- every step impacts the business at large which can be a LOAD of responsibility, but a massive pay off if you make the right step. It is an undeniably high-pressure environment, but it has shaped my outlook on work ethic, sense of urgency, and agility. I am a better employee because of my time here! I simply left because I pursued higher education in a different field.

Cons

Aly and Leigh are learning as this company grows. As artists, they are truly talented. Their work is gorgeous. As business partners, they are admirable in their ability to achieve balance of mutual and differing perspectives. As leaders, they are learning! In this fast-paced environment, it can feel difficult to find support when all team members are looking for it from the 2 founders of a company. The individuals who seek peer support and feedback from their direct reports are thriving! Pure Salt's senior designers have a wealth of knowledge and emulate the kind and detailed approach that Aly and Leigh have taken with them over the years.
