Pros

Summer Fridays (for now) Hybrid Work Environment (for now)

Cons

A direct quote email from CEO Chuck Runyon to all staff on Thursday at 4:00PM of Labor Day weekend when they boast about flexibility and also pay well under market - “Most 5-Day weekend team in franchising - Since when did Well Being Thursdays take effect? Geez, it’s a ghost town at HQ…. WTF? For this of you in office, you’ve been notice. For others, take notice. Most irked CEO“

Pros

The Chuck and Dave aura is real....they are truly amazing humans and business leaders. Consistently put franchisees and employees ahead of short term business metrics. Loved the office vibes. Wellbeing Fridays. Summer parking lot concerts. Fall firepit chats.

Cons

New CEO came onboard through the merger and while smart, sharp and savvy, lacks the empathy, leadership inspiration and coolness that was here...I fear the best days of SEB are behind us.

Pros

Nothing, the old culture that Chuck and Dave built with Self Esteem Brands is dead.

Cons

The company (pre-merger) used to care about its employees and the culture it built. Once Chuck and Dave stepped down, it went downhill fast. Merging with Orange Theory was the worse possible thing they could have done to kill ANY of the positives this company had. It wasn’t even a merger, it was a takeover. The current CEO is so out of touch with times and his employees that it’s laughable. Want to adopt a hybrid work to balance life and work? Nope, that’s out the door. Why? Because he wants meetings to happen in the office when all meetings happen over MS Teams anyways. Even when you’re in the office. It’s basically a way to justify paying for the property. Not only that, they want you to work harder and not get paid what you’re worth. Stay far and away from this company.
