Pros

Opportunity to travel with kids

Cons

Long hours- you are on the clock 24/7 and receive very little pay for the work that is being done. Pay- even after several summers of employment and college degrees- you are still paid less than a high school student would receive to work at a water park.

Pros

There are amazing people who work here, both the full-time team and the summer leaders. This company has a long history of excellence which is still evident in a lot of the connections you make as a leader or staff member. Full time employees enjoy a lovely working space in an old barn in Vermont. It is clear that the people who program the trips and lead them are passionate about what they do and the quality of programming and educational value is generally top notch. The Hiring Team is fantastic and supportive. As a summer leader you benefit from great programming and you get to meet amazing people at the leader orientation and also while ont he programs.

Cons

The company has new owners as of a few years ago and unfortunately many feel it is changing. It seems that under this new ownership it is in danger of going the way of a lot of these student travel places that lose track of the mission, the human component, impact on students, and the reason so many of us were there to instead focus on numbers.
