Pros

my supervisor was very supportive and accommodating. There was a fair bit of gossip amongst the girls but most were lovely, welcoming and helpful. It was fun challenging work with a very steep learning curve, and there is opportunity to master things and progress your career. Initial 6 weeks training was required despite having a Cert III but it was comprehensive as an intro to the company and provided me with valuable learning opportunities. The program was spent in 3 different clinics.

Cons

The pay is terrible considering your responsibities. You are performing somewhat painful and invasive procedures on sick clients that can unintentionally cause long term or even permanent damage. The ramifications of incorrect specimen collection or handling can also cause inaccuracies at the lab leading to potentially serious diagnosis/treatment impacts. Yet you earn %25 more per hour stocking shelves at woollies? The shifts on offer were either very early or very late in day for 4 hours no 2/3 days per week or FT offered anymore. With the cost of fuel x 5 days (for only four hour shift) plus before and/or after school care it wasn't financially viable to work there. Had it been offered as 7.5/8 hour shifts I'd have stayed because I loved it. During training was placed in one of the 2 week blocks with an employee who complained the whole time about the company.

Pros

I literally can’t think of anything

Cons

-Upper management is horrible. -very limited parking, although becoming better as more people quit. -Pay not competitive -benefits not competitive (only 2 weeks paid mat/pat leave) -Mould on the ceilings not dealt with, often have health issues due to the work environment -Very slow fixing any repairs. Bathroom door in the ladies was broken for almost a week. And that was the fastest repair I’ve seen. -Colleagues have stolen people’s lunches and containers from the shared fridges with no consequences - not provided with any spare cutlery in the work kitchen. If you forget yours too bad, even though it is a legal requirement for larger businesses (which QML qualifies as)

Pros

Good parking, and that's really about it. A few decent and lovely people here.

Cons

Men in dresses allowed to use women's toilets, tall poppy syndrome, managers afraid of highly skilled and intelligent people, unwilling to properly train them out of fear of looking inferior. Terrible food and coffee in the cafe, worked like a dog. Nasty and jealous women. HR won't take your complaint seriously, in trouble for talking too much and laughing at work. Wouldn't even recommend this place to a recovering drug addict. Night work is a requirement as well as weekend work.
