Pros

There's a table tennis table? Is that one? I can't think of any more but there is a 20 word minimum so stop reading, this is rambling.

Cons

This company lies to prospective candidates and then completely lies about having said what they said. Whole days are spent in meetings in which certain members of staff continually talk and argue until they get their own way. Shouting, Swearing, making racist comments or insinuations. Meetings will continue until a favourite wins and the more experienced or competent leave allowing them to win. I witnessed a senior manager talk at least three Ethnic Minority members of staff as if they were children despite their obvious competence I can only assume that this was because of their skin colour. I have also seen another member of staff repeatedly call an Asian gentleman by the name of another Asian gentleman and laugh about it. Salaries are bellow the local market Benefits are poor, only 22 days holiday some of which must be taken during December when the office closes, no health cover, below market pension. The company has no work currently despite saying in the interview process that they do you will find yourself sat doing nothing for months on end they are attempting to compete with Bloomberg amongst others and can't possibly succeed. It is a normal every day occurrence for certain members of staff to target others for things like their upbringing, experience, accent, the way they dress but since they are close to Directors and Senior Managers it is the victims who are disciplined and told to change. There is a mass exodus of staff at the company and it is easy to see why.

It is painful to read your comments as the Appsbroker you portray is certainly not the place of work we desire for any of our employees. We are continuously looking to improve and so I’d would like to take this time to specifically address the main themes of your review. Treatment of employees It’s true, we are passionate about our work. And sometimes attaining the best solution for our customers can be a labour of love but at no point should anyone be subject to inappropriate language or as you have implied, racism. We are grateful for our diverse workforce and the behaviour you describe is completely unacceptable. My sadness is that you did not afford us the opportunity to address the issue by speaking with me, Human Resources or by initiating a formal grievance. If you didn’t feel comfortable with any of these methods we have an anonymous feedback form, which is available to all staff, that could have been used to raise your concerns. Reward We believe in rewarding exceptional performance and we try to show our employees that we care. Two years ago we engaged a third party who provides recruitment services to help us meet our growth targets. A big part of their job is to help us ensure that the salaries and benefits we offer are competitive. We offer 23 days of annual leave which increases to 25 with tenure. As a response to requests from employees, we shutdown between Christmas and New Years because we want you to enjoy the holiday season free from work obligations. We also celebrate the little things; free ice cream on hot summer days, free office massages during stressful times, doughnut Fridays, watersports social event, cinema afternoons, cycling events, and access to our ski chalet in France. Workload Those who have worked longer periods at Appsbroker can attest to the fact that like every business there are peaks and troughs, particularly during the summer months when customers are on leave. However, as it happens, we have been extremely busy for the last 18 months and the manner in which our employees have responded has been second to none. Our teamwork has enabled us to deliver some incredible solutions using cutting edge technology to allow businesses to operate effectively in the cloud.
