Inhumane Working Conditions - Senior Vice President R. Couri Hay Creative Public Relations Employee Review

Pros

He is a very notable personality from back in the day of Andy Warhol, who he has art from throughout his home. You’ll get to attend some very fun and high profile events. He writes articles for a local publication that you can step-up and do, to build your portfolio of published articles and gain writing experience.

Cons

Staff is required to work in the dark basement of his brownstone, where his maid is also doing the ironing while you’re working. Zero sunlight. The culture is setup to make staff compete against eachother each week. Not a team environment, and zero structure in terms of policies and procedures. He has no PR training, so there is no strategy, and it’s all page six items, or fluff articles in a very very small local magazine that he writes and fake press events at a random store. As a result, client retention is very low and requires taking on more clients than is possible to stay afloat financially. Burnout is high and morale is low.
