Pros

not much over time and got paid on time

Cons

I completely forgot about this experience until I logged into Glassdoor to update my recent interview and review experiences, where I saw related notifications. I believe I left a review two years ago about what didn’t work out for me back then—but I want to add more here, primarily to alert those who are desperately searching for a job: You might feel like you have no other opportunities and may be tempted to overlook red flags. Please know that this isn’t true. Believe in yourself and don’t settle for a company like this—you deserve better. In 2022, I was a new immigrant looking for jobs. With limited work experience in the U.S., I bent over backward for any opportunity that came my way, just to build up my résumé. However, the amount of gaslighting, disrespect, and belittling from the owner broke me to the point where I had to stand up for myself, even though it meant losing the job. Despite their gaslighting, I knew my worth and stood my ground because I had previously worked with high-profile clients in my home country. I was confident in my abilities and knew what a bad manager and unreasonable standards looked like. If I had been a new graduate, working with RareCulture would most likely have crushed my spirit and further damaged my mental health. For this reason, I strongly discourage anyone from working for them. One month after I was let go, I was contacted by another company in my desired industry and offered a salary $10,000 higher than what RareCulture had offered me. I stayed with that company for over two years, had a great experience, further developed my skills, and significantly improved my quality of life. In late 2024, I was contacted by several recruiters and eventually landed a new role with a salary 2.3 times higher than what RareCulture had offered me in 2022. You will have another opportunity, don't settle.

Pros

It's a super small company , so everyone gets along and really cares about each other. Most of the staff has been there through out the whole pandemic, so being together and succeeding through those hard times has created a great and unique bond between upper management and staff. The work that we get to do is incredibly cool. Being able to see project after project come to fruition is always so inspiring. We get to be as creative as possible in so many different ways, be it creating artwork, curating artwork or coming up with big art-based ideas for all types of clients. No day is the same and every day brings new opportunities to tackle. For a company that has little to zero traditional marketing, we are never without business and always busy. The job starts at 10 am and ends at 6pm and it provides a lot of time to have a good life balance. We all work hard ,we don't stop until the work is done but we also feel comfortable knowing that we can prioritize our families and take time off if we need it! It's a relaxed and familial vibe. We love to laugh and support each other. It's truly a great place for someone who is a self starter, wants to take ownership and grow in their career with a company, as we are growing every day.

Cons

Sometimes working with our manufacturers in different countries can be frustrating as they don't always adhere to timelines set by our clients.
