Pros
Pros: The tech and engineering team were amazing (seems like most are gone now). Definitely ambitious with outdoor augmented reality tech and a lot was learned wearing multiple hats as a start up. Basically ends there.
Cons
Worked for this company around 2022 and everything I had concerns about came true so I'm not surprised after reading the recent reviews. Called it much earlier. Everything outside of the engineering team is all nepotism and bro/hustle culture (also "family" (RED FLAG)). I was one of the many that spoke out and suddenly was let go with no warning, PIP, etc. and I'm not surprised this is still a thing (at-will employment sucks). It's always management versus engineering and at the end of the day, if you side with the engineers, or give any criticism and process improvement suggestions to the executives, management will look for any reason to get rid of you. Nepotism is strong here; they hire friends and keep the friends unless they are a liability to the company for any reason. Some people who added no value stayed because they were "friends" with the company founders and never spoke out, just schmoozed the execs. Some people were definitely there just collecting a paycheck and doing "busy work." When they were awarded Series B (about $70m), I knew they only had a few years before they run out of money if they didn't release a product or secure a contract. The recent reviews confirm what I had heard and warned about before. They fluff up the partnership announcements and such with no viable contracts in place. I figured down the line they were aiming to be acquired since all they did during my time there was show off demos. Sounds like they still have no formalized process in place. Run far away. I tell people it was cool working there, but I'd never work for them again.
