Pros

- The other design consultants - you will make some life long friends. - 25% discount off of member pricing (it's not really 50%..) - Restaurant discount on food - Exposure to high end clientele If you are straight out of school and need a stepping stone this is an okay opportunity, but you will learn everything you need in 6 months. Do not torture yourself more than this.

Cons

SO MANY.. WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN.. Management: the leaders play favorites and flirt with the associates. Some have been fired due to misconduct. There is a large gap in communication, the leaders and boss do not care to respect your personal life nor are appreciative of the time, work and effort you commit and invest. "Design Team": there is no room to grow within the company. There is a hierarchy where you report to the design team and are continuously belittled (even though your educated could qualify as the same or more as them). The company strives to label themselves as a "design firm" but does little decor work and is only retail minded. You are not paid commission - yet the leaders only focus all meetings on sales and your goals. If you are not praised and on top you receive no acknowledgement for your accomplishments. On Boarding: The 3 week on boarding is bar far the least informing which does not set you up for success. As many leaders have resigned, the gallery is professionally an unorganized mess. They give you a handbook of all material you are to learn and you are to shadow before working independently, but they do not cover all content and will leave you on the floor without proper training. Job Description - the responsibilities of your job are VERY vague and unclear. You are only there for SALES not for design. Work Environment- incredibly hostile environment. many people have resigned and gone on leaves due to the impact on mental and physical health. My advice is to avoid this place at all cost. You will be hired as part time and fulfilling full time hours - which then leadership will make difficult for you to transfer to FT and receive any benefits. MANY of the leaders are BULLIES (esp the female design leader) and should of been let go years ago due to their inappropriate behavior. Values: The CEO is very cult like - they idolize Gary in a very odd way. The leaders will use the values against you and in their day to day but do not practice them for the good. RH BRAND/PRODUCT - The brand is beautiful but the pieces are incredibly over priced for what you pay. Customer service team is great but as a representative for RH you will learn that the company has so many faults. Majority of your day to day tasks will be dealing with client issues. You will soon learn how slow and un-innovative the company is (the back end is ridiculously outdated). Summary - Hostile Work Environment.

Pros

Trauma bonding with your team.

Cons

Leadership has no pulse on reality. They put business need and dictator-like decision making in front of work/life balance and what’s right. Instead of using the plethora of experience on their teams to help create and execute fair and equitable solutions to grow the culture and business, alike; they force positional changes, demand that serving staff supplement the income of other support positions and refuse to uphold any of the values and foundations the culture is allegedly built around.
