Pros

Start-up environment. Lots of opportunity - expanding into other states. Good experience if you're just out of high school. Paid medical benefits.

Cons

Best positions are taken Best accounts are taken Work from home? Some people can. Why? Because reasons. You won't get to, however. You are limited on the accounts you can have (and get credit for). Want more accounts/commission? Too bad. But over 1/2 your day is spent finding new ones to grow the business. But hey, you don't get any credit for that! Recycled leads. You'll spend 1/2 your day chasing your tail on leads that have already been called upon - which you'll need to find yourself. You'll spend 6+ months establishing accounts and relationships - and then it might be changed with a new comp plan as accounts get reshuffled to other salespeople! UNDERPAYS! Salary starts off at 25,000-30,000 + 10% commission (max benefit). With the account structure as it is, the base salary isn't enough to justify your efforts. You can get paid more elsewhere. You have no chance of advancement. You'll start at the bottom rung, and stay on the bottom rung. Advance positions get offered externally. Who's the new guy? Oh - he's your boss.
