Pros

Pay is decent. Commissions are good. Schedules are flexible.

Cons

There is no career growth at all. As I've read in other reviews you cannot get promoted with this company. They recently made a show, pretending they would promote, but again, they did not. They think their employees are unqualified, yet they provide absolutely no training. The "training" consists of sending emails and links to online seminars, that's not training, that's spam. I agree with every other review that says the corporate structure is awful. The entire downtown office talks down to and degrades the property teams - and any time you complain about it, they tell you it's your fault, that no one else has ever complained, etc. The problem with the corporate office is that they really make the property manager's job difficult. The entire IT department doesn't know what they are doing, so they lock everyone out of the systems. The accounting departments refuse to give the managers the ability to do their jobs. They limit the amount of petty cash and do not give the managers credit cards. It's like they are trapped in the past decade. How can you run a property and not order stuff online? Only the Regionals are allowed to have a credit card, because they don't trust the managers and the Regionals don't let you use their cards because they don't want to work of settling the statements each month. All of this makes it more difficult for the managers to manage. They are shooting themselves in the foot.

Pros

Hours are good and there are extra days off.

Cons

No room for growth, they only promote family. They previously talked everyone out of applying for a promotion so they could promote an inexperienced family member. The bonuses are a joke, the salaries and raises are low. There is no human resource department. The corporate offices are rude to employees with questions and worst of all… they recently made a change to healthcare benefits with less than 10 days notice after having a mandatory company meeting about medical benefits where this change was not discussed. The change done in the cloak of darkness will cost some employees thousands of dollars.

Dear Current Employee, Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback. We genuinely value all perspectives from our team members and use this input to continually evaluate our workplace practices. We understand your frustration regarding compensation and career advancement. Our compensation structure is regularly benchmarked against industry standards within our geographic market. We recognize that compensation expectations can differ based on individual circumstances and career stages. Promotion decisions involve multiple factors that aren't always visible to all team members, and we realize this can create misconceptions about our process. However, please know that we're always willing to have direct conversations about individual career paths and growth opportunities. Concerning our recent benefits adjustment, this change was implemented following extensive consultation with our benefits provider and legal counsel. The timing was dictated by external deadlines from our provider that unfortunately compressed our communication timeline. We recognize that any benefits modification requires careful consideration, and we're committed to providing as much advance notice as possible for future changes. Your feedback highlights areas where we can improve our communication and transparency. We'd welcome the opportunity to discuss these matters directly if you're open to it. Thank you for the time you have dedicated to our organization. The RMK Management Team
