Pros

RNR is a franchise - Your experience may vary based on which franchise you're in -Pay is solid for management positions and sales, benefits are pretty good for the actual employee, and while the 401k was lackluster by the benefit provider they offer a decent match and they try to educate people on the value of it.

Cons

Again, it's a franchise, but in general the concept of rent-to-own wheels and tires with a massive balloon payment is predatory at best. Yes, these are contracts that adults enter into, but when considering that most lack the financial literacy to truly understand that they're on the hook for multiple thousands more for an item that will likely wear out right as they pay them off, that's not a good look. There's a reason that rent-to-own is getting more restrictive. Factor in that the particular franchise I worked for has a huge issue with overcharging on fees that aren't agreed to... This is well known by upper management but nothing is done. HR practices are abysmal as well. Upper management has actively pushed hiring decisions because "you need a little color up front" or you shouldn't be hiring a woman for an open position. They've pushed to fire someone because they began having health problems on multiple occasions as well. Work life balance is non-existent. Even when you have vacation time there are several months of the year that you're not allowed to take it. You also are never allowed more than a single week off at a time. No one receives weekends off. Profit/revenue numbers are often faked by managers with the ability to alter their past due accounts. Account managers are left out to dry with incentives dangled in front of them that are not realistically achieved in many areas. There is little support unless you're a favorite. The company is unwilling to change with the times unless it is for the worse. They now offer cheap quality batteries that are vastly overpriced to further take advantage of low-income shoppers. These too have a balloon payment attached to them.
