Pros

Not much to speak of. The work was kind of interesting. I guess.

Cons

BELIEVE THE HYPE. Everything everyone says here is true. Find a legitimate publishing company to work for and not this place.

Pros

Very relaxed environment. No dress code, willing to work with your schedule (i.e. Some employees work remotely). As media you get access to events like BEA, New York Comic Con and other publishing-related events. The annual RT Booklovers Convention is usually fun. Annual bonuses (holiday and right after convention) and health insurance.

Cons

The management and company owner are horrible (as in, they could probably be sued for some of the things they've done to employees). The day-to-day is usually ok, but instances of abuse continue to occur. Overall this company is going down the toilet, with the convention being the only thing keeping it afloat.

Pros

No dress code, relaxed work environment, good work/life balance, yearly bonuses, nice office space, health insurance, you get to attend their yearly convention which can be fun.

Cons

Terrible upper management, the founder/CEO is (literally) insane, the president is sexist, there are no checks and balances and management doesn't trust their employees. There are seldom any pay increases, so negotiate a living wage up front as best you can. This place has an extremely high turnover rate.
