Pros

There is a 9/80 working schedule. The people who were the best were anyone that was not senior management or an FDLP. The Hughes Legacy people will tell you about the wonderful time before Raytheon. They were helpful and willing to teach you. Once you are hired, you have to really try to get fired.

Cons

It is in Tucson. They have leadership program for incoming college students who are as worthless as hell and always leave the company. However, senior leadership will fill their heads as though they are something great and outright tell you “ you have no chance to making it to upper management “ unless you are in this group. Senior Management is non-existent, not sure on their competence, and act like a bunch of toddlers in the sandbox. You can be promoted from an Analyst I to Analyst II and receive a 3% raise. The same thing you go last year.

Pros

I worked at Raytheon for over 4 years and had a great experience. The company provided many learning and growth opportunities. I was promoted twice during my tenure with the company, and my responsibility increased significantly. I felt like my management supported me and provided me with the career mentorship that I was seeking. I felt empowered and respected during my time there.

Cons

It can be difficult to work at such a large defense contractor company because of all the process and red tape. Things can move slowly, you have to be patient and pick your battles. That being said, if you learn how to work within the system, you can make a significant impact here!
