Pros

Snacks are a bonus. There is always an abundance of snacks and food provided. JP is an amazing and passionate masseuse and yoga/stretching instructor who comes in every Tuesday and Thursday. Most people are friendly and willing to help. Location is great, right by Place des Arts .

Cons

There was a lack of communication and direction from the very beginning. For example, I was hired on the basis of an internship from a posting I saw on Indeed, seeking a place to learn from experienced professionals while contributing my skills as well. But once they interviewed me, they offered a position as a contractor instead. If you are asked to work as a contractor, make sure you read everything carefully or they will try to blindside you and breach your contract. It was not a great learning environment since my supervisors were highly unqualified and inexperienced to manage a subordinate. Hopefully, this will be a learning experience to move forward from, but it's hard to work with people who don't give constructive or rational guidance/advice. Best of luck to the next person who follows.

Pros

- So many talented people in the office. You can always get technical help from the others. If you a junior, this is a place that you can get knowledge from. - The physical environment is good: great office location; great open-office; great daily benefit (massage, kitchen etc.) - Flexible at work. Work from home is acceptable. - Sales and product delivery know what they are doing.

Cons

- Management is a joke. The company was growing fine in 2016 after the acquisition: people were passionate about what they do and opened to change; however, the management decided to micro-manage the office for some unknown reasons. There was some major loss in the engineering department and the management doesn't seem to care. After many attempts of changing the processes, they still don't understand that they are the problem. - The upper level of the company still thinks that the core business is just selling labours when it is already directly competing in the software industry. Meanwhile, they keep cutting the operation cost in the engineering department. - CEO has ZERO insights on software and has no idea how to manage the company besides saying good words in meetings. - A software company that is totally product driven: product team decides everything regardless of the technology. They do not understand the concept of technical debt, the idea of agile, and the value of software infrastructure. They just want the product works. - The above cons are causing a discouragement on engineering department and a potential long-term damage to the business.
