Lacking communication, no real training, I don’t know if you can consider management that. I did my absolute best to try and learn the system and how to maintain. Without communication and having only been told once how to do things, is not what I consider training. First couple weeks on the job, I get yelled at from across the room in front of all my peers. That was just the start of terrible things to come. Management only will talk to their oldest bookkeeper and mainly office manager, it felt a lot like the popular kids in high school who chat and discuss amongst themselves without letting other know what’s going on around them. My other peers also were told that they would be trained and learn new material but that also never happened. The place is over worked for the one person running the show, and the multiple meetings I had with the management did not show/tell me I was doing a bad job, even though I felt like it daily and was trying my best to communicate with clients with very little I had to work with and off of. My entire work life I have never had these kinds of issues, and this is the only place that has ever told me I should go back to school, when in fact they advised me they would be training me and knew I did not have bookkeeping background. I tried so hard to get organized here, but found this to be the biggest struggle with lack of everything already mentioned. Clients that come to this place also do not get their tax return within a timely manner, and the entire experience has made me break out into hives from even thinking of the word bookkeeping or CPA. This experience left me feeling extremely defeated, and incompetent. Jobs I have carried and done extremely well in all the years of work, and this one experience really shattered it all, as well as my confidence.
