Pros

High expectations could be motivating for certain individuals.

Cons

I worked at Raw Selection and, unfortunately, my experience was less than ideal. While the company markets itself as having high standards and offering ample opportunities for growth, the reality often felt very different. The training provided was inconsistent, and new employees were not given the tools needed to succeed. High staff turnover was a constant issue, which created a cycle of new hires struggling to keep up and then leaving shortly after. While managers emphasized making money, it was clear that they prioritized results over genuinely helping staff develop their skills or careers. The company also seemed to expect more than what was reasonable in terms of working hours. Leaving at your designated finish time wasn’t encouraged, and there was pressure to come in early, which impacted work-life balance. For graduates or entry-level employees looking for mentorship, I’d recommend proceeding with caution.

Raw Selection Response

Thank you for your feedback. A big part of our culture is feedback and we not only request it we demand it. There's a lot we can take from this and continue to learn from, so thank you for taking the time. So you know this review will be shared internally and we will improve as a result of it. I am surprised about the training comments & minimal focus on employee development or progression as we invest heavily in our people, with an external trainer every week, Seventh Wave trainer every month, a library of books on self development and a stacked out LMS system with example calls, scripts etc... and training every day. If you have ideas of what you would like to have included please reach out to me, this is Alex Rawlings. We are by no means perfect and want to continue to provide the best platform for the highest of performers to thrive. I do wish, as it would make my life easier, that to be successful in recruitment it didn't take significant time investment and sacrifices of personal time, but anyone who has been highly successful will tell you it takes a great deal of hard work. Again if you have perspectives of how, please tell me I would love to fix this for everyone. We continue to develop our interview process to attract the very best people to work at Raw Selection but recognise that hiring the top 20% is somewhat of an art when it comes to graduate recruitment. We are incredibly goal-focused and want to continue to hire people who want to achieve their personal goals and this usually means a heavy focus on achieving numbers and progressing. You are right, we have a heavy focus on results, but I am sorry you felt this came at the expense of your well-being. Thank you for your service at Raw Selection and for contributing to the growth of the business. I wish you all the best and please do reach out if you have further feedback. All the best, Alex Rawlings

Pros

There are lots of training and development opportunities and you do genuinely learn something new every day. The team encourages self-development and you are allowed time during work hours to focus on this. Ambitious and driven team with high standards. Opportunities to take on responsibility and accelerate your development. If you’re driven, want to push yourself professionally and gain experience quickly, it can be a really good place to do that.

Cons

Intense hustle culture which isn’t for everyone but they’re open about that. One-to-one meetings would sometimes move beyond work-related development and into discussions about personal life. While I believe this came from a good place, in hindsight I didn’t find it productive and at times found it mentally draining. The business has a strong culture of feedback and accountability, which can be really valuable. However, feedback could sometimes feel one-sided, with limited opportunity to provide context or share an alternative perspective, which made things feel unfair and created a difficult atmosphere. Salary and bonus packages are below market rate compared with similar roles.

Pros

* The pre-start journey was genuinely great. Communication before day one was clear, thoughtful and removed a lot of the usual nerves that come with starting somewhere new. * From the first couple of weeks, I didn’t feel like “the new person” at all — everyone is welcoming, supportive and open, which makes a huge difference. * The culture is exactly what RAW says it is: open, hard-working, motivating and feedback-driven. People care about doing a good job and pushing standards, not just ticking boxes. * There’s a strong sense of ownership and accountability across the business — people take responsibility and pride in what they do. * Leadership is approachable and open to ideas, challenge and improvement, which creates trust and forward momentum. * There’s a genuine focus on continuous improvement and doing things properly, not just moving fast for the sake of it.

Cons

Early days, so still learning the detail of how everything fits together — but support is there when needed & you are encouraged to think hard about what support you need!
