Pros

- Raytheon appears to believe every problem can be solved with money. If you're that sort of person, it's a great company to work for. - Great Engineers - Deviously clinical in approach to Business Development and gaining competitive advantage (even over clients)

Cons

BLUF: I choose my words carefully to avoid being sued. This review comprises entirely of my genuine and honest OPINION formed, from my time with Raytheon UK. Detail: Seriously, I would advise anyone who is considering working for Raytheon to avoid it. I found Raytheon a Machiavellian and in many ways, backward outfit to its DNA and whilst it pays lip service to 'ethics', I felt (ashamedly as a Manager that) I had become part of an unscrupulous, lying, vicious and callous group of people, whose morality and ethics went only as far as it enhanced their individual interests. I and others (believe we) witnessed sharp practices which our customers would have been horrified by, but about which we could do nothing, notwithstanding the whistleblower 'training' we received - especially not having witnessed what (we believed) was the brutal culling of colleagues who crossed any of the self-important and over ambitious middle management. I also felt after the 'cull' that Raytheon is quick to use legal threats to gag former employees, whilst putting up a solid wall of silence as their defence against any comeback. I have heard it said that the culture is a heritage from its American masters, but I'm sure even the Americans would be horrified when the stones are eventually unturned. Part 2 of the review will follow in time with more detail.
