Pros

The co workers here are amazing creative, hard working people. Free food on Fridays is fine, I suppose. Culture is casual, so you don't have to come in all dressed up.

Cons

Where to begin? - Pay is insultingly low for all the work everyone does. Writers and marketing/merchandising teams all get yelled at for things management does. Work load is so much, most of us stay after 5 to finish everything. Don't expect overtime. You'll probably get fired if you even dare to suggest it. - Feeling sick? That's nice, but in the world of Heath and Ruslan, that's no excuse. You'll be told to work from home. I've seen poor co workers arrive here sick out of their minds because our dear, caring management doesn't believe in paid sick leave even though NYC sorta has a law for that. - The firings around here are a thing of legend. If you're fired, hope that you're one of the lucky ones who gets fired over e-mail/phone. Some here get fired while being screamed at and humiliated in front of everyone in the damn place. Firings tend to have no real reason, so have your resume updated and ready. - Heath and his right hand Ruslan are sexist, misogynistic, homophobic and have no idea what their audience wants. If readers and buyers heard everything they said in the office, I doubt this business would still be running. - There's a third guy, who I believe handles the finances, and he usually has no idea what's happening. He's a nice guy, and I feel sorry that he's a part of this sinking ship. - If Heath and Ruslan make a mistake, don't expect them to own up to it. They didn't say anything, you're always mistaken. You screw up thanks to their misdirection? Expect to be insulted, screamed at and/or fired. - Oh and they're involved in lawsuits. Surprise, surprise, right?

Pros

Great environment and corporate culture. The people are fun and relatable. No one takes themselves too seriously. Seems like the only people posting reviews here are disgruntled employees who were terminated.

Cons

High pressure and ever-changing industry.

Pros

More than enough office politics and ego to fill an entire season of GoT. Employee purge happens every 2 weeks or so. This is essentially a marketing agency. They only hire naïve millennials who don't know their worth. The work is creative but not worth chump change. Come for the deception and stay for the trainwreck. You get paid on time. Drama makes for great dinner/bar conversations. They feed you dirt cheap gluten food on Fridays. Some girl got fired for ordering grilled cheese once. Meh. You also learn important lessons on how NOT to run a business and treat people. I've worked in some terrible places but this is really something else.

Cons

Have fun getting your workload done on top of management yelling at you. Management has Napoleon syndrome and will not hesitate to terrorize employees. Don't you dare speak up or disobey! Very unconstitutional. Uncomfortable confrontations and creepiness abound. Bigotry and misogyny commonplace and very cringeworthy. Has implied a gay man is not a real man. Not cool. It's almost fun to watch a sketchy business operate with knives on all sides. Site traffic is suspicious. They allegedly steal products ideas, layouts, content, pitches from third party individuals, even from their own vendors. Employees, please give up trying to make this place authentic. It's not going to happen and you do not get paid enough.
