Pros
- Important mission supporting US Dept of Defense
- Very smart and dedicated team members
- Outstanding benefits (healthcare is free)
- Competitive pay
- Opportunities for flexible and remote work
- The company treats employees with dignity and respect
What gets lost in the negative reviews is that there are a lot of really smart, dedicated people who work at Rebellion and who are trying hard every day to turn things around. You could not find a company that does more to try to keep employees happy and to genuinely listen and take action on any concerns.
Cons
The usual challenges of a start up - the company has been through a lot in the last year. Like many start ups, we're moving away from founders who had no ability to execute and who put their friends in most of the leadership positions. Within the last 6 months, Rebellion has brought in a mostly new leadership team (while keeping a few of the good people) and is making real strides to improve internal communication, clarify the product roadmap, and set measurable goals. It's going to take some time to fully turn things around, but a lot has been accomplished in the last few months and the company gets better every day.
Rebellion is a terrible choice for someone who wants the stability of a govt job or a big defense contractor. But for true "start up people" who can handle a little chaos and who enjoy figuring out how to build the plane while flying it, it's a great place to be. There's the start of a great turnaround story here.
