Pros

I have been a Security Engineer at Red8 for almost a year. At first I was skeptical about consulting work as I have always been an in-house engineer, but my mentor and colleagues were incredibly supporting and a wealth of knowledge. They made the consulting transition incredibly easy. There are a vast amount of pros, but the most notable are: - Investment in your education. You have the ability to learn all things security and even specializations. - Support your chosen career path. You've always wanted to be a cloud security engineer, pentester and GRC? They'll support your goals.

Cons

To be completely honest I haven't been able to think of any. Any company that will go out of there way to provide you support, invest in your future through education and pay you great money is a 10 in my book!

Pros

Great Job for Competent Self-driven Employees - If you are an independent, self driven, responsible staffer, this would be a great environment for you. You work with expert consultants in the IT/tech field where there are so many opportunities to learn about the latest technologies and work with top consultants in the field. Company is still small enough to make an impact on process and help to smoothly guide Engineers and customers through the Red8 project process.

Cons

Working remotely does not allow you to benefit from the onsite company "social life/fun" when they schedule activities (food events, volunteering opportunities etc) - Feel a bit disconnected

Pros

The people on the floor were honestly the only thing that kept me there as long as I stayed. Depending on your role, you can learn a lot and gain experience fast because you're constantly being thrown into situations that force you to figure things out. If you're willing to work hard, there is opportunity to grow your skills with limitations, the work is heavy and more knowledge gained is more often you will be bouncing around fire to fire to put out.

Cons

The biggest issue facing this warehouse is the site director. Multiple employees have left because of his leadership, and morale continues to suffer because of it. There have been multiple HR complaints and employee concerns raised regarding his conduct for a while, yet many employees feel that little to nothing has changed. That lack of accountability has created a culture where people stop believing their concerns matter. There are ongoing concerns about favoritism that have been discussed by employees for a long time. Employees notice when certain people appear to receive different treatment, different standards, or exceptions that others would never receive. Employees notice when concerns are raised repeatedly and nothing changes. The result is exactly what you would expect. people become frustrated, trust in leadership declines, and eventually people leave. The warehouse has good employees and good managers, but until the site director is held accountable for the culture he has created, the same problems will continue.
