Pros
I came to Reeves several years ago from a previous job behind a bar. Started off entry-level but the company has supported me through qualifications and experience. It's definitely a workplace where you get out as much as you put in. This is a good place for people who want to work hard and learn (not necessarily through formal qualifications, there is plenty of training going on throughout the year). I would also say that I have seen the company be quite flexible. If people have expressed a desire to work in a specific department, they will usually try to accomodate. It's not guaranteed of course, but if it's a good fit for you and a good fit for the business then it usually works out. The firm has recently reviewed it's benefits package and it looks good. This wasn't a huge factor for me but I know it is for some people.
Cons
I think it is fair to say that Reeves isn't for everyone, and that's perfectly fine. This is not a highly corporate setting so if that is important to you then this won't be a great fit. No matter what job you do, you will be required to communicate well with people. Those who don't speak up/keep to themselves might not fit in as well without some extra effort. If you want to work 100% from home then this probably won't be a good fit for you. If you have worked for other financial services firms, specifically financial advisors, you are probably going to need to learn a new way of thinking and working. If you don't want to do that, this likely won't be a good fit for you. Rarely does someone come to Reeves and walk straight into the top-job in the firm. I would encourage people to be patient and concentrate on their progression pathway to move upwards in the business. The CEO has always been very vocal about how people can progress if they put in the time and effort.
