A decade of service, a pittance in return. - Associate Manager Regal Employee Review

Pros

The size of the company, 500+ locations, allows the possibility to transfer from one location to another across the country reasonably easily. The full-time insurance, at least for now, is excellent and is by far the best part of their benefits package. The nature of the industry allows for flexibility in work schedules, so it's a good place to work part-time as a student.

Cons

The pay is abysmal. Not a single member of our management team at my location can afford to live on their own, without roommates or family. Merit raises, when they come, are nickels and dimes, with a cap of about 3%. Full-time benefits, while okay to good, can take years to earn, as full-time vacancies are rare. One outstanding manager I worked with for a couple years from another location took 10 years to get to full-time status. Some of the demands made on staff availability can be excessive, but at least we lay our cards on the table on that front. Turn-over has shot up in the past year; recently, in a two month span, I counted about 20 General Manager vacancies announced.

Pros

It was a fun job for a part-time role when it's one of your first jobs. Got to watch movies during breaks, coworkers were chill, free popcorn and tickets was also a bonus.

Cons

Dealing with trash, rude customers, and rush hours were rough but were all part of what you'd expect in customer service. Hours are a bit late for closing given that its a movie theater.
