Cons
Regency bought out the home health agency I was working for. Prior to this, pay was great, patient care was first and foremost, staff collaboration and communication was amazing, and overall company culture was exactly what one would look for as a PT. After we were bought out by Regency, our pay was cut significantly, our PT evaluations signed and submitted were changed to lower frequencies (in order for them to cut costs), OR we were told what frequencies had to be written before submitting evals, communication was terrible and overall culture resembled that of a corporate structure where the sole focus was "how can we cut more costs" as opposed to "what does each particular patient need". Ultimately, after 2 years of me (director of PT) pushing back and fighting all these corporate changes, all of our PT staff (4 PTs and 3 PTAs) was put on a conference call and told we were being terminated effective immediately, with absolutely no warning. We were locked out of our documentation system leaving several notes, re evals, and evaluations unfinished, we were told not to contact any of our patients for any reason leaving them completely in the dark, any of our PTO accrued (120 hrs for me personally) was not being paid out. This was a company I had busted my butt over for 6 years. Working every single weekend, going outside my normal area to cover for other therapist (including towns 1-2 hrs away), not taking time off as they would make me feel guilty for leaving my schedule to be covered by other therapists. All to be kicked to the curb in a matter of minutes with nothing to show. Am I upset? Yes. But please don't take this review as a spiteful review, or me blowing thing out of proportion to get back at this company. I have learned my lesson, and I will be fine moving on. My purpose here is purely to warn anyone working for or considering working for this company what that will be getting in to. They do not care about loyalty, hard work, empathy towards patients, altruism, teamwork, etc. They only care about how they can make and save the most money on their bottom line. Everything I have stated here is simply the truth and I want others to be aware. Proceed at your own discretion.
