Pros
A few years ago the culture was more work/ life balanced. The hands off approach allowed for more experimenting and creative approaches to work with the aging infrastructure. There was some transparency in how the company was performing. After changes in management, upper management would be pleasant to their other office. There was newer collaborative software added to help workflow. Vacation time was easier to take. Benefits were not bad. There was better planning on projects during this later time.
Cons
At one time this company was a nice small company to work for. Changes in Management, compartmental approach to corporate knowledge from a gatekeeper management style, plus lack of clear managerial structure; has created a dysfunctional culture to work in. For past year or more, there became a situation where local management made an effort to create a structure to help smooth workflow. This was not done in a way to help but instead created a gatekeeper. Only certain people were allowed to flourish, while others regulated to being openly mocked. Projects for the most part had better planning but overall still not adhered to. People constantly moved in and out of projects due to poor scheduling (or no adherence to sticking to a schedule). Information needed for a successful completion was not easily available.
