Pros

I started working at Renner the spring semester of my junior year of college, which is a difficult year school wise. Dr. Renner was extremely understanding of my school and extracurricular work load and gave me a lot of flexibility with making my own schedule. I stopped working at Renner almost two years later because I graduated, and I was so sad to leave. Dr. Renner and his employees are more than willing to teach new hires so that they can gain experience. I learned so much from my coworkers when I first started, which later allowed me to easily train new employees. Working as a chiropractic assistant here provided me with direct patient experience and exposed me to new information about anatomy and holistic approaches to treating the body constantly. I new little about chiropractic practices when I started working and left knowing how to administer different therapies such as electrical muscle stimulation, spinal decompression, ultrasounds, RPW, etc. Based on my experience as a pre-med student, this job is great for people that want to go into the healthcare field after graduation. I definitely recommend applying!

Cons

Direct patient care can be difficult regardless of where you work, but Dr. Renner and his employees offer a lot of support and create a comfortable working environment.

Pros

I worked at Renner Chiropractic for 3/4 of my years at TAMU and was sad to leave when I graduated. When I first started, the employees and Dr. Renner himself were welcoming and made sure I had all the tools I needed to succeed. I had hands on training with everyone and felt as though I could always ask questions. Throughout my time I assisted with administrative duties and alot of hands on patient care - which is great if you are looking for clinical experience. Dr. Renner and the office manager were always flexible and understanding if I had a school conflict, or if I wanted to work more hours. I really liked my time at Renner Chiropractic as I was able to really develop my technical and patient care skills, learn new information regarding treatments, and the community of people that I worked with who were really supportive!

Cons

Some may say it is lower pay, however, for the flexibility and experience you gain I think it is fair. It is a great job for a pre med looking for experience, or someone looking to work in a supportive environment. There are also opportunities for growth.

Pros

The only thing that kept me there as long as I was, were the other girls I worked with.

Cons

Little to no pay, High stress environment, Dr. Renner is always in a bad mood and ready to yell at someone. When I had my interview I was told I was going to get a certain amount of pay after 2 weeks of training. After those 2 weeks of training were up I did not get bumped up to what was discussed. He then told me that I had to get checked off on 2 more extensive trainings to get bumped up. Huge red flag! Took me another month to get to what was discussed in the interview. Dr. Renner is very sexist when it comes to his employees he always talked down to us, acted like we were stupid, or made us feel guilty for being sick or not being able to work. He also would tell us we needed to be on a diet in order to get certain treatments done. I was someone coming into this office with no medical experience and was able to do treatments on patients that I felt only professionals should be doing. Long hours they say you would be off by 6pm during the interview but in reality it’s more like 7pm because you have to wait till the last patient leaves and most of the time they aren’t gone until 7pm.
