Pros
As per headline, it's fun working at Rental Hygiene! I really "love" my manager, Light. He cares for his subbordinates. Not just someone working under him. He treated me as a human, more humane, a friend! He has what it takes to be a good boss. You'd also get a diverse range of colleagues from late 20s to 60s ( Senior consultant used to be the boss of the company) and local colleagues. As well as Malaysia, India, China and African (HQ) colleagues! You get to learn Chinese, Bahasa Melayu, Indian (not sure Tamil/ Hindi/ ?) as well as snacks and souvenirs when they got back from their leave. There's also food, treats, drinks incoming. Every now and then e.g. Christmas, D&D (There's actually performance by your fellow colleagues! Initiated by Light), when our customer/ supplier dropped by... You also get better workplace environment if you came from really old workplace/ infrastructure (I did) as they just moved to a new unit in the same building at TechII AMK late 2024. If you have what it takes, the can-do it spirit as well as your performance, the heads will see it. You'd get opportunities to learn, to transfer around the company and work your way up/ career advancement. I was also lucky to get a raise after my feedback to the head/ my direct reporting- COO and MD and not a scolding which I'm used to from the previous employments...
Cons
Though it's nice to have people from all backgrounds, BUT not sure if it's Menopause or PMS, the female colleagues here can be FIERCE and bad-tempered to a scaredy cat and small size girl like myself. (1.54m+/-) Next, being a listed company, Rental Hygiene can do SO MUCH BETTER for their employees for D&D... There's NO BANQUET. But at least it's PAID. My previous employments some is YOU PAY OUT OF YOUR POCKET for the banquet. Though subsidised. Then, for increment and bonuses, you'd have to FEEDBACK. I heard from employees working there longer (5 years, 6 -7 years respectively) NO FEEDBACK=STAGNANT. Last but not least, STRESS, get ready to GO CRAZY &burnout during the peak periods. (Beginning &end of the month) There are many times I wanted to give up.. But I didn't and worked my way up because of my senior, Stacey and Mr Jeremiah Goh (Senior Consultant). But, personally I quit Rental Hygiene because of the 2nd transfer on my 3rd year with the co. Is it so fun to transfer your employees around? Or you just wanted me to learn all the ropes? But I was burnout, my condition worsened you won't hear me despite my complains (perhaps because stress from the real boss) and because of one or many of the fierce colleague(s)?
