Pros
- Very supportive and friendly environment and also, there's some food in the office. As a Master's grad (with 2 years of work experience), they literally teach me everything about the job, they believe they can train anyone, you just need to vibe with them, therefore the interview will be more about personalities. People here are just so nice. All of them. - Resources for learning are unlimited if you're up for it. - Chance to showcase your work through company-wise. - There are multiple reply companies within the office, so you get a chance to meet other people from other reply companies. - The Christmas party is massive with food, DJs and other reply companies outside the UK. - WORK-LIFE BALANCE. I can guarantee, even when work is hectic, you will have time and it will all be finished by 5pm. - You can apply for other reply offices around the world but subject to availability and if they open.
Cons
- People in the team usually don't come to the office even though I as a project manager cannot force them, they will come up with multiple reasons not to come even though the team meeting is only once a week in the office. - Not a lot of projects to work on since it is in the downturn of the market the sales team is not very good, but keep in mind that it is only my company (a reply company), I have heard that one of the reply companies is very good at sales so people there have to work a lot. - Not very much room to grow because you'll stuck if you have no projects. I am free 50% of the time and have to ask the managers for more work most of the time. - In my last project I was stuck in a project with 2 project managers because we didn't have enough projects for every project manager. It was boring. My utilisation is 25% and I feel sorry for the company because they pay me relatively higher than usual (compared to those big4). - Though, I said in pros that they will teach you everything but that as a project manager. For the developers, I have heard a lot of complains for juniors and new grads in my team that they need a lot of assistant and no one can provide them because everyone was so busy with their own work, so they have to wait and therefor cannot deliver on time. It depends on the balancing and roles and responsibilities definition really. - Career ladder is not good, if you're okay with working on the same position and no promotion for at least 5 years then this is the place for you.
