Pros

There is a lot of opportunity for overtime; the actual work itself is VERY easy; in a 10 hour shift you may realistically have only 3 or 4 hours of work (the rest is downtime); there are several chances to travel on a field service call (if you like the traveling aspect); it is in Pittsburgh and there are so many things to do in the city and surrounding areas! It is almost impossible to get fired as long as you don't steal, call off/clock in late too much, or sleep on the job. Decent medical and flight benefits.

Cons

It is so political from management downwards; there is a lot of drama. Most of these guys are backwashed from larger companies and either don't want to move/have been furloughed/or are too old. Take it with a grain of salt your daily/nightly conversations and watch what you say. A lot of the senior guys talk trash about the company and co-workers behind closed doors but won't actually say anything to your face or to management. Point being-don't trust anyone! the company is non-union; the work duties aren't distributed properly and some guys will do ALL the work while others (mostly senior guys) will sit back and watch. The company is scared to take action against the lazy mechanics. The company has a bad reputation with the airport authority and other maintenance services at the airport due to childish behaviors. The pay is terrible. 15 year step program to top out! Benefits are too expensive. Very poor managerial decisions.

Flight Benefits are hard to use but nice
