Pros

Trust from senior management, allowing me to work autonomously from home without being micromanaged. Good social aspect (company events in head office, remote social events organised during lockdown). Openness encouraged in terms of discussion relating to my own role and/or grievances, and suggestions relating to product and service listened to.

Cons

Workload at times very high pressure due to large portfolio of customers. Size of company meant not many opportunities for promotion within team/department

Pros

- Not a bad place to learn for a while, some friendly co-workers and teams - Relatively stable if you're the sort to keep your head down - Remote roles

Cons

Engineering leadership had a *swift* culture change. If you're in the clique, you're in. If you're not, you're not. For some this was a problem, for others obviously not. If you agree with the right people, you will be fine no matter what your metrics say. If not, in middle management, you can be made miserable, lied to, frozen out and blamed until you quit. Promotions likewise were only given to the "right sort" of person, with arbitrary assessment frameworks being the order of the day because they can be gamed. Individual teams can build good internal cultures, but won't necessarily be supported.
