Pros

Nice office space. And at one point, this seemed like a company where you could help build a truly unique product.

Cons

The founder and CEO is the most unprofessional and disrespectful "leader" I’ve ever worked for. He frequently yells at and belittles employees, and threatens to fire people when things don’t go his way. He tries to motivate people through fear. I've heard him yell really degrading things at team members (tried to put an example of what he's said but my previous review for including offensive language) I’ve also seen him throw objects out of anger. His outbursts create a toxic environment that makes the office extremely uncomfortable and contributes directly to the company’s high turnover. Even in my first interview, he asked, “What do you know about me?” This is a late-stage startup (10+ years old) that’s going under. The day-to-day environment is filled with yelling, belittling, and disrespect. This summer, the company has gone through multiple rounds of layoffs and is now down to less than 10 employees — most of whom are actively looking to leave.

Pros

Less than 10 employees get to share a whole office space meant for about 100 people! Lots of personal space to be alone during the work day

Cons

I have genuinely never had a worse professional experience than working at Resonance. The founder is running a severely struggling business and refuses to acknowledge the reality of its failure. As a result, he regularly yells profanities at people, belittles team members, and even throws objects during angry tantrums. It is, without question, the most toxic leadership and profound disrespect I have ever experienced in a workplace. The company’s extreme failure is largely a reflection of his inability to lead with emotional regulation, accountability, or basic respect for employees. Turnover is extraordinarily high, and all strong talent (including myself) has left within the past six months / year. The environment is not sustainable for people who value psychological safety, professionalism, or healthy leadership.
