Pros

-This is an awesome company to join if you are entering the tech industry! Provided you have the requisite experience, there are plenty of experienced people that can guide you with whatever you wish to implement (web dev, SEO, DevOps, etc.). The people are great! -Contrary to some of the other reviews, I had absolutely no issues with Human Resources during my time at Resulta. Any inquiries I had were handled quickly, professionally and with genuine care and friendliness. Your mileage may vary. -Some teams genuinely took time outside of work to bond and develop friendships. I went to numerous hockey games/sporting events and to team lunches every month, all funded generously by the company. They also have events at work - Super Bowl parties, American Thanksgiving meals, step challenges, the occasional breakfast at work, etc. -The comprehensive benefits, RRSP matching, fitness allowance, office bar, etc. Enough said - it rocks. -The company navigated through COVID-19 with respect and dignity, not penalizing employees who wished to work from home and giving opportunities to anyone who would rather return to work. Their protocols were thorough and evidence-based. -Social justice initiatives were generous and appreciated. -The company perks (e.g. bagel Wednesday pre-COVID, the occasional bingo Friday during COVID, the step challenge, charity BBQs, company swag, generous home-care packages during Christmas) make you feel at home! Whenever this felt genuine in nature, it was always a positive. -There are great opportunities to take on projects that will advance your career. -OKRs are logically laid out and company business updates are regular, so employees are aware of how the company is doing on a regular basis. -Multiple members of management (IT, technology, HR, CEO) are incredible human beings with warmth and compassion and will listen to you and ensure your needs are considered at the very least.

Cons

-Resulta operates fiercely within some seedy world-class industries. You'll need to be comfortable with that. For the most part, the excessive company perks help the medicine go down. Early efforts to diversify the company's assets are hilariously lackluster thus far - you can't SEO your way out of half-baked ideas in heavily saturated markets. While employees are protected if things go sideways, current projects feel like a moth is being drawn closer to the flame. -Sometimes the company perks are tinged with the feeling that it is all an explicit brand-loyalty exercise to help cover over some of the dubiousness. I have almost an entire wardrobe based on Resulta swag - basically head-to-toe! Upon reflection, I've realized that actually isn't a normal practice for a company and probably made me feel guilty wanting to leave. The generosity serves the end goal, which is to position Resulta as the employer of choice. -There were many weird firings pre-COVID, so your position may not be as stable as you might imagine. I did not see weird firings in my department or other departments I worked with closely, however, so your mileage may vary. -Project management at Resulta is an absolute nightmare. Resulta's reliance on other external partners means that the ambitious, exciting projects are in a constant state of uncertainty. The ultimate end goals of projects are sometimes reserved for select employees (which does actually make some sense), but oftentimes employees are not given enough information to handle their roles and responsibilities correctly and efficiently the first time. You can expect project requirements to change frequently over time, sometimes undoing everything you had worked on. As a result, I don't have optimism for the company in the long-term and do not expect all of their ambitious projects to work out. -When I began working, Resulta was at the perfect number of employees and tasks/projects were more predictable in nature. Upon my departure, the employee base ballooned in size and some natural growing pains emerged from it. Who do you consult with? Who needs to know about what you are working on? Everyone is stretched too thin. -Communication between teams highly varied. Communication with some teams was really quick, and was nauseatingly slow with other teams. -Growth opportunities vary. I hit my ceiling after a few years (very obviously so) and it will make sense to leave, even if you receive a minor promotion. It is very easy to feel complacent, in spite of company marketing to the contrary. -Resulta is an affiliate marketing company. If you are in marketing or directly serve the front-end design of the marketing, you can expect to be compensated well and fairly if your product is doing well. If your product does poorly, expect the boot. If you aren't involved in anything directly front-facing, be prepared to get majorly short-changed. There are some MAJOR issues with fair compensation in the IT departments broadly, especially for long-standing employees who have worked at Resulta for 5+ years. As some jobs at Resulta have narrow growth opportunities, employees will naturally leave to greener pastures unless they are compensated competitively to stay.

Pros

- They pay for your cellphone bill and health insurance - There were once some awesome people who worked here, however, they are all quitting - Work/life balance is pretty good - HR are lovely and they do care, unfortunately they are handcuffed by an incompetent and unqualified executive team who are simply in those roles due to seniority in the industry and being friends with each other. - The ex-CEO is a great person and there are very faint traces of his legacy left - key term: very faint. New leadership has destroyed this place.

Cons

- A workplace where dreams go to die - When I started here, I was ambitious, confident and celebrated in my field. When I left, I was so torn down, abused and defeated that I questioned whether I was good enough to be working within my discipline and was considering a full career change.

 - Extreme sexism, gaslighting and abuse. Newcomers to Canada are often paid far less than their white counterparts for the same roles. Women are routinely passed over for promotions and treated with an immense double standard in comparison to their male counterparts. - Many recruiters in Eastern Canada gave told me directly that they don’t want to touch this place with a ten foot pole because its reputation has gotten to be so bad. -
Client industries are legally questionable at best. This creates extreme secrecy and an environment that's okay with bending the rules, trickling into how employees are treated and what kind of behaviour is tolerated.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, however these are very serious allegations we’d like the opportunity to address. Our HR team works to partner with the business and our executive leadership at all levels of the organization. If you’ve experienced any situation with sexism, gaslighting or abuse we take that extremely seriously and we strongly urge you to get in touch with our HR department so that we can discuss further. Our compensation policies are fair and just, and do not discriminate against anyone, regardless of gender or ethnicity. We promote as often as possible internally, and focus on developing our front line employees and managers through our LMS, DEIB training, and career development. If this was your actual experience with us, we hope you will reach out to our HR team to provide us with more situational information.

Pros

• Resulta is a place to do the best work of your career—because the people around you are also doing the best work of their careers. It's a positive place that's outwardly very competitive, but internally other teams are very helpful so everyone can succed. • Leadership trusts its staff, rewards high performers with promotions, gives ample training opportunities to staff to help them skill up and be ready for their next role. • The waterfront office is full of friendly faces, ample snacks and great coffee with regular social events planning so everyone gets to know each other better and have fun. People are happy here—and this happiness is infectious. • And finally, all Resulta compensation packages include comprehensive health benefits starting on Day One, and an RRSP match after the end of the 90-day probation period.

Cons

I truly have no cons here. Not one.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re proud of the culture we’ve built at Resulta and it’s great to hear it’s having a positive impact on your day-to-day experience. We’re glad you’ve felt the trust and autonomy from leadership. Giving talented people ownership, clear direction, and growth opportunities is core to how we work, and hearing that reflected back is incredibly rewarding. And yes the waterfront office, coffee, snacks, and social events definitely don’t hurt 😊 It’s important to us to create an environment where our team can make connections. But what really makes our office special is the people in it.
