Pros

The company has always embraced remote work and work from home, so the work-life balance is a plus. The actual scientific testing of products is interesting. The pros end there.

Cons

There are many problems at Reviewed, but the top two are senior management and salaries. The senior management team is not supportive, gives criticism that's not constructive, and expects you to read their minds, which of course sets employees up for failure. There is a lack of direction, little organization, and very few established processes in place. Reviewed's senior management likes to say that the company culture is more in line with a startup (despite being owned by Gannett) but this is just an excuse to ignore these problems and continue running the business in a way that is nonsensical. As another review mentioned, they seem to have an unconscious bias against women and definitely play favorites. If you are not one of the favorites then you risk being excluded from important meetings, and spoken down to by senior management. I cannot over emphasize how toxic this work environment was. The disrespect I witnessed in meetings was bizarre. Good luck getting an actual salary raise. You are more likely to see a promotion in title/responsibilities only.

Pros

get to write cool content IF you have a good manager testing products you might otherwise not afford (we still can't afford anything we promote on our salaries) middle management cares DEI program tries but gets no help from management

Cons

upper management huge lack of communication pay is pathetic (recent grads will be fine but you won't grow) usage of AI without communication to staff members and gross partnerships with Advon that promotes bad products on off-brand reviewed.com pages benefits are awful owned by Gannett- doesn't care about their employees, only their relationship to Gannett
