Pros

There wan an enthusiasm and excitement during the initial launch that you would think could translate into something extremely innovative. We all thought the ambitious agenda of having the first network that could merge music, social media and activism into one would happen. Wow, we couldn't have been more wrong.

Cons

Let me preface this by saying I've been a producer for over 10 years in this business at a multitude of television networks and production companies, and this one was the absolute worst. As one of the first boots-on-the-ground producers to help build a department infrastructure, I immediately saw huge oversights in the workflow. There was no map, no production guideline, no real plan as to how we would produce / deliver content. You know, things like what are the specs? What music and photos we do have clearance to use? How do we ingest? What are the import and delivery specs? Plus, what about copy approval, troubleshooting, editing, rendering, exporting, approvals, etc. None of this was spelled out - and we were just days from launch, and the situation only worsened in the weeks to come. I offered real, practical solutions and was only shot down and reprimanded for trying to help. I was equally as dumbfounded as how so-called execs signed off on this 'delivery system' and didn't realize the glaring oversights that made this all next-to-impossible to pull off. Many of them didn't last and as the staff left, so did the small amount of viewership. But here's what most troubling: This place has manipulated it's social media following, saying it has nearly 250K followers on some platforms, when in reality, those followers are paid. You can tell by the EXTREMELY low level of engagement and retention, which comes out to less than .0002% in some cases. Why? I can only imagine it was used to manipulate their ad sales, allowing them to say, "Look how many people follow us on ... ", when in reality, they don't have the followers (or viewers) to back up those claims. But they got the cash, and the people at the top have kept it to themselves and are riding it out 'til the very end.

Pros

REVOLT once showed real promise as a cultural leader, but its content and energy now cater mostly to Millennials, Boomers, and Gen X audiences, which contrasts sharply with its Gen Z and Gen Alpha positioning.

Cons

Leadership and organizational issues have limited the company’s potential, leading to a noticeable dip in its impact across media. DEI cuts really took away the momentum built in the business by Sean Combs. A noticeable disconnect between leadership and the brand’s core audience has led to decisions that don’t always align with the culture the company represents. Leadership keeps saying everything is amazing, yet the company quietly cancels its biggest event, REVOLT World, while cutting budgets and downsizing teams. It’s confusing to hear that things are ‘stronger than ever’ when the day-to-day reality shows otherwise.
