Cons
I recently completed a 6-month internship at Rexnorn Electronics and Control Ltd., and unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. Despite being an engineering student, my tasks were limited to menial labor such as tightening screws, checking motors, conducting high voltage tests, and applying glue to motors. There were no opportunities to engage in engineering-related projects, and the work felt more suitable for unskilled labor. The work environment was not conducive to learning or professional growth, and interns were treated as regular factory workers without any meaningful engineering tasks. Management did not provide constructive feedback or learning opportunities, and interns were expected to work long hours from 8 AM to 7:30 PM with only a 30-minute lunch break. There were no significant learning opportunities, and the tasks assigned did not contribute to my growth as an engineering student. Additionally, the food provided was of poor quality and not suitable for interns who had to work such long hours. Overall, my internship at Rexnorn Electronics and Control Ltd. was an unfulfilling experience, and I would not recommend it to other engineering students looking for valuable industry experience.
