Supportive work environment with room for personal growth - Senior Department Administrator Rice University Employee Review

Challenging, can be demanding hours and frustrating bureaucratic processes, some departments honor work/life balance better than others. Rice is what you make of it; if you aren't happy in the department you begin with, you can easily find a better fit on campus elsewhere but you have to make the effort. If you want cookie cutter rules and clearly defined processes, Rice will be maddening to you.
