Pros

Ridout was a great family owned company until its acquisition by US LBM in 2017, and now it remains an outstanding place to work. US LBM has really beefed up the benefits package and spends a great deal of time and money on enhancing culture. US LBM is now owned by Bain, so improvements continue.

Cons

If there were cons, as President through 2021, it was probably my fault, but the biggest thing is the cyclical nature of the lumber business, which sometimes creates some ups and downs in employment levels. Does not affect anyone except entry level jobs typically.

Pros

Friendly atmosphere with other employees. Management is caring but they have to implement what corporate decides. Greed of the owners and upper management has made this a place I could never recommend anyone to work at.

Cons

Management is caring but they can only do so much. I doubt they are happy with their jobs either considering what is going on with corporate these days. $17 an hour at a flat hourly rate is not a living wage and any raises are very small and far between while they continue to pile more and more work on you because they are as busy as ever but are cutting hours to put more money in their pockets. Doing the job of two people for this low pay is not acceptable.
