Pros

In my opinion and from observation: -Some of the people were really wonderful to work with and a pleasure to be around. -The benefits were very good for a nonprofit of this size. -The position was remote and allowed a lot of flexibility.

Cons

In my opinion and from observation: -Marginalized folks are used to show that the company reflects diversity when it truly does not. These folks are mistreated quite often. Employees that have stood up for them are mistreated as well. -The ED allows entitled persons, friends, etc to mistreat others with no consequences. -When anything goes wrong, ED blames everyone and fails to be accountable for anything, for instance, the stupid idea to change the name of the organization without seriously considering the negative effects. -ED and top level management gave themselves huge raises in pay and then had to lay folks off, they then took a "pay cut" to make it appear that they were suffering along with regular folks. -They do their best to keep the BOD from talking to and interacting with the staff and most of the board are friends with the ED and may go along with all of the silly ideas that ED wants to move forward with. -Layoffs are happening left and right, people are losing their benefits and many have left, due to the maltreatment received. -Poisonous environment that has the very disrespectful harassing culture that they supposedly fight against. -Not a safe space to be in emotionally. -No true transparency.

Pros

Anti-harassment work brings unique challenges and everyone on the team is great about offering someone support and just generally checking in about well-being.

Cons

Anti-harassment work while inspiring can also be depleting. Maintaining a healthy work/life balance when tackling issues of racism, sexism, and homophobia on a daily basis is at times a challenge.

Pros

Staff who worked there were great. The culture is aspirational with many supportive benefits such as professional development stipends. Many opportunities to connect with staff and have "fun" at work even in a remote environment.

Cons

They haven't clearly outlined how to measure the impact of their work or the strategic direction needed to make a vision-aligned impact. The "culture cons" have been adequately outlined in other reviews.
